Events commence Friday (today!) at 6pm slt with a Library Dedication Ceremony, and continue with a Grand Ball. The Festivities continue Sunday the 16th with a walking tour of Steelhead, a Literary Tea, and storytelling by Gilbert Sapwood.
Riven Homewood, CeAire Decosta and the citizens of Steelhead cordially invite you to the formal dedication of the library in Steelhead on Friday, March 14, 2008, at 6 pm.
At that time we will announce the winner of our recent Name The Library contest! Be among the first to know!
At 7 pm please join us at the Steelhead Saloon next door for two hours of dancing pleasure.
Dress to celebrate your favorite drunken Irish poet or other favored literary character! Our own amazing Sheriff Fuzzball Oretega will be spinning the tunes as he does for us every Friday night.
But that's not all!!
On Sunday, March 16, the festivities continue.
They begin at 11 am with an Open House at the library.
Meet the library staff and enjoy our beautiful library building, created by TotalLunar Eclipse in the style of a classic Carnegie Library.
At 1 pm, follow along for a Walking Tour of Steelhead and learn things about the Pacific Northwest that you never knew before!
From 2-4 pm, since you'll be thirsty after the walk, we have arranged a pleasant Tea in the Steelhead Town Gardens, hosted by Steelhead Councilor Lumina Elvehjem. Victorian dance music will be provided by the redheaded wonder, Diamanda Gustafson of Radio Riel.
At 6 pm, the tantalizing storyteller Gilbert Sapwood will be regaling us with tales at Steelhead's City Hall. You won't want to miss this! It is an official World Storytelling Day event, the first ever held in SecondLife.
